Somehow this is news: When a cameraman shouted, “Jesus Christ!” in a locker room after something bad happened, Tim Tebow responded with, “He loves you.” Yes, that is the news story written by WND’s executive news editor Joe Kovacs with the headline, “Cameraman Shouts ‘Jesus Christ!’ Tim Tebow Responds.” And they complain that the mainstream media prints stupid stories.
In just over eight hours, there are over 200 comments to the article. The top comment is by a young whipper snapper whom I have no relation to and do not know and probably have never met named “Arch” who wrote: “That’s why I love Tebow: Spreading the Word and God’s Love.” 89 up-votes and 0 down. I’m okay with that. It’s a positive message. As long as you’re not preaching fire and brimstone, this is innocuous as far as I’m concerned. I would love to be filled many times with Jesus’ love. Maybe afterwards we can enjoy some fine wine.
Many of the comments are along similar lines, praising Tebow for being both a public figure and an outspoken Christian. I am aware of him being an ass about it, but this … meh, who cares?
I scrolled around looking for negatively ranked comments and really didn’t find too many. The biggest one is by “Steve Holsten” with 1 up and 8 down votes who wrote: “To me just saying Jesus Christ shouldn’t be taking the Lord’s name in vain.”
