About

World Net Daily (“WND”) is a “news” source that is incredibly conservative. Not Republican. Not Tea Party. Think more conservative, more religious, and more radical than those. You’d start to get an idea of the kinds of stuff that WND posts.

It includes writers such as birther (Obama wasn’t born in the US) Jerome Corsi, Ted Nugget, Ann Coulter, and persons from many very far-right religious institutes such as Bryan Fisher or Brian Brown.

They do not have an open comment policy on their site. If you disagree with what they say, you almost certainly will be banned. I know, I’ve been banned. I was banned because there was a story awhile back about a girl who was kidnapped by her non-custodial mother and ferried out of the country via a network of churches to keep her away from her custodial mother (gasp! a lesbian relationship!). The story in question was reporting that the preacher who helped on the US side was found guilty of something like child trafficking or kidnapping or some such thing. I posted that I thought it was good that he was because that’s what he did.

I was accused by other commentators of being a pedophile because of my view that someone who kidnaps a child and ships them out of the country should be prosecuted. Apparently, that offended the moderators at WND. No, not me being called a pedophile – that comment is still up. But that I would dare think that a person pulling a girl away from her lesbian mother to live with her ex-gay mother was a bad thing.

Many months later, I have decided to start this. We’ll see how long it lasts. It will be political. It will be (anti-)religious. It will not be PC. It may not even be G-rated. It will have rants. You have been warned.

  1. Keep up the good work! Someone needs to keep tabs on what the crazy folks over at World Net Daily are up to, and I’m sure glad it doesn’t have to be me!

I have a similar “Patriot Watch” thread over on my own blog, but I shall definitely be coming back here every time WND publish something that makes my head explode.

Here’s a good one – some courageous Russian vigilantes capturing a suspected paedophile. Or homosexual, not sure. What’s the difference?

Got banned myself, for commenting on “‘Racism’ charge: Where is thy sting?” by Joe Farah. He was wondering aloud why all these lefties accuse the right of racism. I just pointed out to him a recent quote by Pat Robertson:

‘The 700 Club host said, “We are having a tremendous amount of this black-on-white violence and I have a feeling that instead of bringing racial harmony, having an African-American president has exacerbated the problem.”’

So the solution, I presume, would be to outlaw certain types of people from being POTUS.

Joseph Farah has found a nice and profitable niche in feeding scare stories to gullible, uncritical people. These are sad folks who don’t really care for the truth– they’d rather have their delusions fed.

Yes, just found your site, hope you can keep this watch up…would love to help if I could.

Thanks, George. The best way to help is to help publicize by tweeting or sharing on FB the posts that you like.

I’ve been kicked off a number of times, but figured out a way to re-register reliably:

    1. Download and install the Tor browser, which anonymizes your IP address, obstructs cookies, and the like, when you enter a site.

    2. Get an email account at hush.com using the Tor browser. You can do this without providing any identifying information, like a real email address.

    3. Get a Disqus account on the Disqus website, NOT WND, using your hush.com email address.

    4. Again, use the Tor browser to enter the WND site. You should get a pop up from the Tor browser that will tell you that WND is trying to collect identifying information. You can, and should, refuse to allow this, and proceed.

    5. For each article you wish to provide a comment, you will need to login independently from that article’s comment section using the “Login” dropdown at the top the section. Choose “Disqus” from the dropdown, and provide your Disqus credentials per Step 3.

    6. You should be good to go for the particular page you are now viewing, but your login credentials will not transfer to another page. A page refresh will require a fresh login, but the browser will have retained your Disqus credentials.

IMPORTANT CAVEAT: There is a quirk in the WND system that will occasionally indicate that WND has blocked the post you have just tried to submit. Not to worry! The Tor browser application menu (under the onion icon at the upper left) has a “New Identity” selection that will get you around that problem. However, you will have to re-submit your Disqus credentials from scratch, as these will have been zapped when the New Identity is created. If for some reason that technique doesn’t work, just close the Tor browser and restart.

n.b. WND has gotten way more persnickety than when you were last on. Sure fire routes to being kicking off include…

    1. Referring to the comments moderators as “thought police.” If fact, any slightly disparaging reference to the moderators is deadly. I tried using “gedankenpolizei” and got nailed on that too!

    2. Refrain from discussing WND’s business model of manufactured outrage, the idea that the columnists get paid based on the number of comments their articles receive, or the idea that JF is just only selling right-wing pornographic tchotchkes.

    3. Be careful with sexual references, and especially with ones that include Jesus language.

    4. WND is even kicking off people that it would ostensibly agree with, but do not make the mistake of believing they treat the comments fairly. If your remarks are not aligned with the WND worldview, you are more likely to get kicked off even if those remarks are just as offensive as those offered by their rank and file.

    Take it to ’em!

    Tim
