Sometimes, WND posts things that I fully expect will rile up their commenters. Sometimes, I am wrong. This is Part 2. In Part 1, the two articles were about climate change (specifically, sea levels rising) and gay equality trumping religious freedom.

This article has been up for over three days and is a link to a CNSNews.com article (Cybercast News Service, for those wondering what “CNS” stands for). WND headlines it as, “Inhofe Probes Obama’s Climate-Agenda Advocacy. Sen. Jim Inhofe (Republican from Oklahoma) is perhaps the most vocal climate change denier in Congress today. This article is discussing Inhofe launching a probe into whether the Hatch Act has been violated:

Inhofe today [August 14, 2013] sent letters to EPA Regional Administrator Curt Spalding and White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) Chair Nancy Sutley probing apparent coordination between CEQ and the Organization for Action (OFA) on events today pushing the president’s climate change agenda and the potential violation of the Hatch Act.

According to the Hatch Act, federal employees in the executive branch, except certain designated officials such as the President or Vice President, are prohibited from engaging in political campaign activities.

In my opinion, since advocacy for good science cannot be considered political “campaigning,” this is a clear attempt by Inhofe to bill climate change as a political agenda. I would be very, very surprised if it goes anywhere. But, I expected WND readers to be thrilled that (a) a Republican is doing something against the President, and (b) that it’s against climate change, which they consider a “liberal conspiracy.”
